OBSERVATION OF MY ORAL PRESENTATION

CHILDHOOD OBESITY, Sergi Garcia.

In my presentation I used powerpoint . I think that the powerpoint I used was relevant to the topic and attractive. My presentation was 5 min. 30 sec. long.
I tried to look at the audience most of the time but possibly not enough and I was reading occasionally from my notes. I used hand gestures to hold the attention of de audience.
I organized my ideas in order important, but I could have used discourse markers to make my ideas more clear.
My information was detailed and clear but I didn’t used enough examples. I look the information mostly on the internet and also in books about health.
My grammar was correct and my vocabulary quite rich and varied, but I can improve. I didn’t used enough sentence linkers or pause fillers and I need to remember this for my next oral presentation.
I think I spoke too quickly and this was bad for the presentation. I need to speak more slowly and pronounce my words more clearly.
I think the subject of my oral presentation was interesting and relevant and I think my mark should be six or seven. I need to improve my used of sentence linkers and pause filers. Also I need to learn more vocabulary and speak more slowly and more clearly.

I think that this oral presentation we came out better than the previous presentation because as we already had the experience learned,we could control the nerves, speak more clarity .. and as we were two people is not the shame if it did so as one person.
For what has been done, I think that the note of our presentatión is between seven-eigth, more than anything because I had a good feeling.

Hello I am Sergi. The characterístics of spain are:
- The size is approximately five hundred square meters.
-The population is approximately forty million people, density nine people for square kilometers.
-The average income to spain is: twelve thousand to eighteen thousand € every year.
-The average number of children is 1.37! this is low for a European catholic country.
- Spain's capital is Madrid. Madris has a population of five point one million and it is six hundred and ninety eight kilometers squared in size. The spanish Royal family live here and thousand of tourist visit Madrid every year.

Now we eill discuss the two religions:
-The main religion is Roman-Catholic but over twenty percent of the population have no religion.

Now talk about the typical music of spain:
-Spanish music is very varied.
-Most people asociate spain with flamenco and Spanish guitar.
-However the music varies region to region.
-The contemporary music scene is centered in Madrid and has contribued to pop, rock, hip-hop and heavy metal.

Now compare the two countries typical sports:
-Popular sports in spain have som similarities with the UK.
-Football is the most popular sport, for example teams like FCB, Real Madrid..
-Tenis, golf and motorsports are also important.
-Differents sports from the UK are: handball, basketball, watersports...

The finally information we wont to compare is typical foods. Now I will start with the typical foods of Spain:
-Spanish cuisine is fomous arround the world for being healthy.
-The Mediterranean diet is: Fresh fish, vegetables..
-Spanish flavours are traditionals.
-Coastals areas still have a fantastic selection of fresh fish and shell fish- all tourist love paella.

-In conclusion we would like to say that Madrid and London are both capital cities and both are tourist attractions. However both are very different, both reflect their traditions and cultures.

Good morning My name is Sergi. Today I want to speak to you about the village we live in Castelló d’Empúries and the bad reputation of teenagers in it. In Castelló teenagers have a bad reputation because they are always in the streets with scooters, motorbikes… This happens because people under 18 years old have nothing to go out at night, bad taxi and bus service, poor facilities… and everything leads to that people think badly of teenagers.
-Firstly, I talk a bit about Castelló d’Empúries:
-7000 people live in Castelló d’Empúries.
-There are 2 schools and 1 institute.
-32% of the people who live in Castelló d’Empúries are under 18 years old.
-What is there in Castelló for these young people?
Nothing
-What can these young people do in their free time?
-Secondly because of this people talk about the bad reputation of teenagers in Castelló:
-Many people complain about groups of adolescents in the streets, they complain about scooters and motorbikes.
-They complain about graffiti.
-Many people find teenagers frightening, threatening, trouble…
-What can we do in our free time?
Nothing
-What does Castelló have to keep us from the streets?
-Thirdly, the facilities Cstelló has for teenagers are very bored:
-We have pavelló and football pitch but these can not be used everyone, can only be used by teams.
-There are some bars, for example jr, but the majority of people in the bars are much older.
-There are some restaurants, for example “el portal de la Gallarda” but with prices we can not afford.
-Are we to stay at home and watch TV, play computers games or surf the internet?
-Next I am going to talk about the facilities teenagers needs:
-Swimming pool: palau and pau have pools and are smallers than Castelló, fewer people…
-Sports facilities: football, basketball, gym, handball…
-A pub, snack bar, disco: in Empuriabrava there more opportunities for young people to have fun, but there is not a good bus service or a cheap taxi service and go to Empuriabrava is very difficult.
-Then say the consequences if we do not provide alternative:
-Go at night with scooters in Empuriabrava: this is something that many accidents could lead.
-Adolescents using false identification
-Smoking
-Drinking alcohol This could be prevented if adolescents have good entertainment
-Taking drugs
Conclusions:
-In conclusion I think that Castelló needs more places and facilities for young people.
-I think Castelló needs to provide a regular and cheap transport system for adolescents.
-I think the young people here are bored and sometimes look for excitement where they should not and finally finish with a bad reputation.

THANK YOU.

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?

I think the note of my oral presentation is 8 because when I spoke I did not look at the paper, I looked at the audience. I used power point and the ideas on my power point had a good structure (firstly, secondly, next…), I think that the information in general of my presentation was interesting…
But when I was in front of the camera, the people, the teacher… I began to get very nervous and my pronunciation because I was speaking too fast, was not the standard I wanted.
I think that I gave people a lot of information about Castelló, from the view of adolescents- Castelló is a beautiful historic village but there are not enough activities for the young people.

I think I can improve my oral presentations by trying not to be so nervous and talk more slowly.
